Flow Shala DEI program Mission Statement

Flow Shala is committed to upholding anti-exlusion and anti-racist culture, working to embed these ideals into all aspects of our business and community. Through facilitated group discourse, accountability and praxis, the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) program at Flow Shala will unveil, unpack and work to heal the projections of unconscious bias held within the organization due to the sociocultural conditioning of the white wellness industry.

We are actively engaged in the process of learning and unlearning. We welcome and ecnourage feedback from our community and we will continue to examine our individual and organizational biases so that we may release them.

We have teamed up with the Alternative Library, Fusion Dance in Bellingham, Acro Yoga Jam and other community organizers. We provide a space & platform for inclusive and accessible programming. Check the out the Alternative Library Events Schedule to see our in person events.

Education & BIPOC Event Programming

The DEI program includes an initiatory training specific to the health and wellness industry held by a 3rd party organization.

This will be followed by continued facilitation of healing justice praxis through deep interactive group sharing, somatic sensing/presencing, trauma-informed movement, and other frameworks offered to both Flow Shala staff and clients.

The DEI program’s goal is to radically transform the minds and hearts of leadership, further evolving the organization’s embodiment of Solidarity, collaboration and community from the inside-out.
